An Association Designed by Mechanics For Mechanics
Heartland Emergency Apparatus Technicians (HEAT), an association designed by mechanics for mechanics, was formed in 2007 to:
· Promote growth and professionalism of emergency vehicle technicians by providing a uniform curriculum of education, training and networking support.
· To have a voluntary exchange of information and resources at the local, state and national levels.
· To support the emergency vehicle technicians certification process by scheduling additional test sessions for the Emergency Vehicle Technicians certification commission in conjunction with regularly scheduled test preparation courses.
· To promote professionalism and to increase public and departmental awareness of the certification process for all Emergency Vehicle Technicians.
