Heat Board Meeting Minutes
7/10/2014

This meeting was held at Summit BBQ in Lee's Summit MO and began at 11:00 am. All board members were in attendance except Byron Long. Mark Stinson opened the meeting by letting us know that he had booked Jake Coates the Ford trainer to do the Police Interceptor class on Oct. 14th and 15th. He also had news that Horton had agreed to put on their intelliplex class on the 14th. Steve Stewart asked for input regarding the specifications class he was preparing and there were some suggestions made. Terry Eaton has agreed to do his new ambulance test prep class on the 15th. Bill Hills offered his hydraulic class on the 14th. And Mark will check with Whelen to see if they are interested and available for this training.

Much discussion involving whether it is acceptable to take some loss on the Ford training. Steve determined that each attendee consumes $13.35 per day in lunch, pop, and donuts. At this time we would like to ask John Alden to take the $175.00 registration fee off of the website until we determine what the various costs of the training should be. It was determined that thumb drives would not be handed out at this training. Bill Hills suggested having hats made up to distribute, t-shirts were mentioned again, Howard Mann volunteered to seek input on give aways. There was also some discussion regarding having very old fire trucks on display at the fall training.

The treasurers report was passed out in the form of a "treasurers snapshot" that reflected any activity incurred since the spring training. It was determined that Heat credit cards would be added for Terry and Howard so they could assist in purchasing supplies for future trainings.

Jefferson City in the fall was discussed, hoping to attract Spartan there. Bill inquired about getting some Heat business cards and Steve offered to produce them.

A Graham Frazier award recipient was selected, Bill offered to get with Conrad Fire regarding the leather jacket that goes with the monetary award.

The board voted to change the rule regarding board members not being allowed to nominate people for the Graham Frazier award. Board members are still not allowed to vote for any candidates that are employed by them.
