HEAT Board Meeting 4-27-2012
H.E.A.T. Spring Training Conference, Lake Ozark, MO
Board Members Present: Bill Hills, Mark Stinson, Steve Stewart, Josh Wood
We had 12 attendees and one trainer at the meeting.
Scott from Whelen has volunteered to be back for October training in the 2nd week of October.
Attendees were happy with the rooms. People were interested in coming back again.
About 40% of the people here are first timers.
What would draw more people here?
It seems to be hard to get St. Louis people here.
Spartan is popular in St. Louis and Eastern MO, so maybe we should target that crowd.
Mark is going to start looking at St. Louis area municipalities and see how we can draw them in.
One attendee commented that his Fire Chief knew about the training but nothing got done until their vehicle maintenance division was contacted. We will try to get the information to the correct people. Maybe we should target public works.
One attendee at the meeting said that he found out about the training through add tracker, Bill said he had several inquiries from the adds.
We should look at Fire Fighters Association of Missouri, FFAM, about getting a small add. This goes directly to FF’s, not just Chiefs; this group meets in Sedalia.
Omaha would like to see a class about pump accessories, controllers, water level indicators, etc…
We can look into Lake Ozark and Precision Fire for a class space where we could have a truck inside.
October training will be October 8-12. Overland Park, KS
