HEAT Board Meeting 4/16/13
Board members present: Bill Hills, Josh Wood, Steve Stewart, Mark Stinson
Spring Training Conference 2013 update:
- All agree that instructors are doing great.
Fall Training Conference 2013:
- 2nd week of October will be HEAT Conference.
- Josh will follow up with Pierce on shipping puck and training dates.
- Dave Schirer owns Emergency Apparatus. Pierce warranty provider…he may have some Contacts.
- Contact Mark Bortrup. Mark will contact him about training the fall.
- Look into what we need to do on new ambulance standards. We need to update our M1 and M2 test prep if we are to continue teaching it. Mark, Steve, and Josh are all willing to teach. We have had a couple people inquire about the class.
- Amkus class could be a possibility. Byron just attended a class on tool maintenance and learned
a lot. Byron will give us contact for instructor. Basic PM would be great. Half day class?
Board Elections 2013:
- -Nominations will be due May 31. There will be two weeks of voting. Will be on website second week of June…no later than third week. Results will be in by end of June so we can take care of elections at annual meeting in July.
-Reminder that to vote companies or individuals must be a current HEAT member (website).
Graham Frazier Leadership Award:
- -Nominations due April 30 for Graham Frazier Leadership Award.
Future training / other:
- Would like to see Spartan in KC. Maybe rotate the Ozark training and the OP training could be swapped in coming years.
- Keith Klassen is contact with waterous. May be a training option for CAFS. We have not had CAFS training in a long time.
- Fire Rescue Training Institute may be interested in promoting us. They are in Columbia, MO. Byron talks to Kevin Zumwalt.
