HEAT Spring Training Conference 2016
Spring training will be April 12th- 14th at the High Ridge Protection District located at 2842 High Ridge Boulevard High Ridge Missouri 63049. We have a great line-up of class this spring including trainers from Spartan Truck: Gary May and Mike O'Neil. Scott Mangan from Whelen lighting, Dan Cleveland is offering Allison Transmission training (with test prep information), and HEAT's own Steve Stewart is offering his EVT Management test prep class. We will have EVT testing on Thursday afternoon. Below is a list of classes for each day.
Tuesday classes:
Disc and Drum Brake Maintenance: Instructor Gary May Spartan Truck. This all day class is a hands-on experience where you will perform brake installs and adjustments
Basic Electrical: Instructor Mike O'Neil Spartan Truck. This all day class is a great class for anyone doing electrical work. I have sit in on Mike's class and remembered thing that I had forgotten. Part of the class will be hands-on where you will test electrical components.
M1 and M2 prep training: Instructor Steve Stewart. In this all day class Steve covers materials that you will be tested on when taking the Management 1 and 2 EVT tests.
Allison Transmission Training (two day class): Instructor Dan Cleveland. Dan does an excellent job of covering items that anyone running Allison transmissions can use every day. This class covers maintenance, some diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Dan also covers items on the EVT F6 test.
Wednesday all Day:
Emergency Lighting Installation and Troubleshooting: Scott Mangan with Whelen will cover emergency lighting installation and troubleshooting. Scott will cover new items Whelen has available. This class will continue on Thursday morning.
Wednesday morning:
Air Brake System: Instructor Gary May Spartan Truck. Gary has a brake board and will cover how the system works and how to diagnose system problems.
Electrical Troubleshooting: Mike O'Neil Spartan Truck. Mike will cover common electrical problems and how to troubleshoot them.
Wednesday afternoon:
Steering and Suspension Systems: Gary May Spartan Truck. Gary will explain steering and suspension problems and how to fix them.
Charging and Starting Systems: Mike O'Neil Spartan Truck. Mike will cover starting and charging systems. Including how to troubleshoot both systems.
Thursday morning:
A/C Principles and Diagnoses: Gary May will cover the principle of A/C, diagnosing of pressures and troubleshooting system problems.
Weldon V-Mux Multiplexing: Mike O'Neil will cover "What is Multiplexing", Multiplex advantages and Weldon component identification and troubleshooting.
Thursday afternoon:
EVT Testing: Must sign up for test through the EVT Commission E-mail us at and have the confirmation letter present at the start of the testing process. Separate Fee for EVT testing paid to EVT commission.
