The Tenth Anniversary HEAT 2017 Fall Training Conference will be held September 26-28 at the City of Overland Park Fire Training Center 12401 Hemlock, Overland Park, KS 66213.
We have a great lineup of classes for this conference plus we will be celebrating our tenth anniversary with special giveaways.
Here are the class descriptions;
Tuesday Sept 26th.
EVT F-1 Test Prep class. Gary May, a retired Spartan Chassis trainer will cover truck maintenance and inspection for the F-1 test. Although this is a test prep class anyone doing truck PMs will gain valuable information on how to do inspections. This is a two day class.
Allison Transmission Maintenance and Service. Joe Dawson with Central Power Systems and Services will cover maintenance, service and diagnostics on Allison Transmissions. Anyone servicing Allison transmissions will find this class worth taking. Although this is not a EVT test prep class Joe will cover many items found on the test. This is a two day class.
Detroit Diesel Engine Maintenance and Service. Steve Palovik with Central Power Systems and Services will cover maintenance, service and diagnostics on Detroit engines. Anyone servicing Detroit engines will find this class worth taking. This is a two day class.
Fire Pump Testing and F-3 Test Prep Class. Ben Brown owner of Legacy Fire will be teaching the Pump Class, this class will include prep for the F-3 EVT exam and he will have an actual pump test trailer that will be performing apparatus pump test. This is a two day class.
E-1 Design & Performance Standards of Ambulances & E-3 Ambulance Heating, Air-Conditioning, and Ventilation Systems Test Prep Classes. Terry Eaton with the City of Lawrence Kansas will cover the general design and performance standards for ambulances as described in NFPA 1917, Standard for Automotive Ambulances, and general principles of preventive maintenance and servicing for the E-1 test on Tuesday. On Wed. he will cover basic A/C design, requirements and components of these systems. Will also cover NFPA requirements and standards for the F-3 test.
Thursday Morning Sept 28th
New Diesel Oil Requirements. A representative from Champion Oil will cover the oil requirements for the new diesel engines.
Basic Fire Apparatus Operations. Terry Wood a retired Olathe Kansas Fireman will go over the basics of operating a fire truck. Terry will cover the basic operations you need to know after making repairs to the apparatus.
Thursday Afternoon Sept 28th
EVT Testing. You have to be registered 21 day before the test date in order to test. Contact the EVT Commission at to get registered. Test ID: KS2017
