This electrical course deals with the (non-multiplex) electrical systems found on our Pierce® Chassis. The class is structured to cover location and function of major electrical components used on these vehicles. The class will include lecture, demonstration and hands-on instruction covering the following topics:

Course Title: Aerial Maintenance Length of Course: 2 Days
This course is designed to instruct the student on the proper repair and maintenance of the Pierce® Aerial ladders and platforms by using both classroom and hands-on Training. This class will cover Pierce® Aerial electrical systems, Pierce® Aerial hydraulic systems, system component identification and functions, Pierce® multiplexed aerial components and functions, and the purpose and use of multiplexed aerial Input /Output (I/O) sheets.
Note - This class does not cover the Ascendant™ Class Aerials (107’ & 110’)

Terry Wood a retired Olathe Kansas Fireman will go over the basics of operating a fire truck. Terry will cover the basic operations you need to know after making repairs to the apparatus.

This is the first time Ben Brown has offered this class with HEAT. In the past he has instructed a Test Prep class on Fire Pump testing, that included testing of several units donated by local Fire Departments.

Basic Commercial Tire Service: 1 Day
Companies that wish to provide OSHA compliance training for new hires and experienced technicians using this program without certification can participate in this Basic CTS Program (200 Level). This is a 4-hour training program that will be led by one of T&W Tire’s instructors. Students will receive a workbook that they will use as part of the training and module quizzes. Following the training, the students complete a 50-question Final Exam. Those who successfully pass earn a TIA Certificate of Completion.
