SCHEDULE:

Tuesday April 19th             Opening Remarks and Registration

  • Management-1 class,  Instructors: Boyd Powers Sedgwick County Fleet  and Steve Stewart City of Lawrence Fleet .  This is a four (4) hour class. 
    • Class Description:  This class is a Prep Course for Management Level 1 EVT exam.  Anyone that would attend would be there with the intention of taking those exams.
  • Management -2 class, Instructor: Steve Stewart City of Lawrence Fleet.  This is a twelve (12) hour class. 
    • Class Description: This class is a Prep Course for Management Level 2 EVT exam.   Anyone that would attend would be there with the intention of taking those exams
  • Firetruck Preventative Maintenance: Instructor: Mark Riddle Flint Hills Fire and Rescue. This is an eight (8) hour class. 
    • Class Description:  This Class will discuss emergency vehicle electrical issues, go over the major components of a Fire Apparatus and discuss many of the issues that can be found on today’s equipment
  • Spartan Air Conditioning:    Instructors: Gary May Spartan Chassis. This is a four (4) hour class. 
    • Class Description:  Class covers the working components of air conditioners and diagnosing failure cause and repair. The last third of the class will cover testing and pressures.
  • Spartan Air Valves and Plumbing:  Instructors: Gary May Spartan Chassis.  This is a four (4) hour class. 
    • Class Description: This class will cover the operation of all individual air brake components and how they interact with each other. Troubleshooting of the chassis air brake system, review of the air brake requirement
  • Whelen Electrical:  Instructor: Scott Mangan Whelen Corporation:  This is an eight (8) hour class: 
    • Class Description:   This class will teach the technician advanced wiring and diagnosis for emergency equipment and accessories.

Vendor Showcase will be open daily on the exhibition floor.

Wednesday April 20th

  • Management 2:  Instructor: Steve Stewart City of Lawrence Fleet.  -- Continued from Tuesday --
  • E-1 and E-4 KKK class.  Instructor: Boyd Powers Sedgwick County Fleet.  This is an eight (8) hour class. 
    • Class Description:  This class is designed to present information on the AMD and KKK ambulance standards, the Technician will be supplied with Key information needed to aid in completion of the E1 and E4 EVT exams.
  • F-2 Prep class:  Instructor: Bryan Richey Sedgwick County Fleet:   Course has been cancelled.
  • Havis Shield  Electrical class:  Instructor?  This is an eight (8) hour class. 
    • Class Description:  Class is designed to teach proper installation on computer docks and mounts, the do’s and don’ts. This class will also include, Power management; Charge Guard [automatic shutoff timers] and  IDLERIGHT, Idle management.
  • Spartan DOT.     Instructor: Gary May Spartan Chassis.  This is an eight (8) hour class. 
    • Class Description:  This class covers operator's requirements for "chassis account-ability" and will outline the EVT requirements of DOT and 1911. Also covers the documentation of work completed, understanding out-of-service criteria and required inspection and testing

Thursday April 21st

  • L-1 Law enforcement installation:  Instructor: Phil Nelson Sedgwick County Fleet.  This is a four (4) hour class. 
    • Class description:  This class will give the technician hands on training and information needed for detailed learning on Emergency vehicle up-fitting, this class will also aid in the completion of the L1 EVT exam.
  • Napa Light Duty Brakes:  Instructor: Chad Allen NAPA Corporation.  This is a four (4) hour class. 
    • Class Description:  This class will teach the technician diagnosis and repair techniques for light duty applications.
  • Tour of Precision Fire Apparatus ½ day
  • EVT Testing in afternoon: Test site id: MO42111.  Test Proctor: Mark Amsinger, Fire Chief - Lake Ozark Fire Protection District
