HEAT Spring Training
April 16- 18, 2013
Country Club Hotel
Lake Ozark, MO

We have another great line-up this year. We have both trainers (Gary May and Mike O'Neil) back from Spartan Chassis, Dan Cleveland from Stewart Stevenson, and Jordan Rautiola from Smart Power Generators. Gary and Dan will be teaching prep classes for EVT testing. Here is the line-up;

Tuesday all day
F1 Inspection. This class will cover the inspection of the cab and chassis as outlined in NFPA 1911. Gary May will be teaching this class. I have not sat in on this class but if it's like Gary's DOT inspection class it will be great.
Apparatus Electrical Theory. Amps, Ohms, Volts, electrical principles and meter functions- "Bring your volt meter".  Mike O'Neil will be teaching this class. Last year was the first time I sat in one of Mike's classes. It was unbelievable. Mike had you doing hands-on, figuring out voltage drops, and keeping the class interesting.
Allison Transmissions. Class will cover MT and World transmissions. It will have many useful maintenance tips that you will be able to take home and use. F6 test material will be covered.  Dan Cleveland will be teaching this class. I have been around Allison transmissions for almost 40 years and I was amazed at what I learned in Dan's class.

Wednesday all day
Disc and Drum Brakes. Class will cover operation, repair and preventive maintenance of disc and drum brakes. Also covered will be set up, maintenance, and repair of automatic slack adjusters. This will be a hands-on class. Gary May will be teaching this class.
Allison Transmission. Continuation of Tuesdays class.
Data Link Diagnostics. Class will cover SAE J1587 and SAE J1939 protocol, multiplex gauges, high idle, DEF light operation, pressure governor, extracting fault codes for engine and ABS from LCD gauge. Mike O'Neil will be teaching this class.

Thursday Morning
Weldon V-mux. What is multiplexing? Multiplexing advantages, Weldon component identification and troubleshooting. Mike O'Neil will be teaching this class.
Air Brake Systems. Class will cover air brake plumbing, valves and operation. Students will draw a complete air brake system using Meritor work book. Gary May will be teaching this class.
Hydraulic Generators. Class will cover general knowledge and maintenance of hydraulic generators. Jordan Rautiola will be teaching this class.
